W32 / Blaster Worm (Auto shut down)

Dear users

A new Internet worm has been discovered in the wild. It has been named
W32/Blaster Worm. W32/Blaster worm is spreading rapidly via the Internet and
infects Windows 2000/XP

This worm exploits the Windows vulnerability of DCOM RPC and it automatically spreads itself across the Internet without computer users' intervention.

If your computer has been infected, first run the removal tool, which can be
downloaded from our FTP server at ftp://ftp.ait.ac.th/anti-virus/blastsfx.exe

Then apply appropriate patch which are also available from our FTP server at ftp://ftp.ait.ac.th/patches/windows/

You have also to apply the patch, although your computer has not been infected yet in order to prevent it from infecting your computer in the future.

If you have further queries, please contact helpdesk (helpdesk@ait.ac.th) or
at 6082.

Thank you
